From 1917 health aspects of people in the local area where also given important by having mobile clinic as well as Mariam dispensary seeing the condition of the drop outs and poor girls and boys, to help the women to stand on the feet, started integrated development for women, tailoring, typing and secretarial course in 1994. Many of the poor local girls are trained and are employed. Even though the poor people we have helped in many ways 1999 social welfare centre was started to reach out the tribal’s and people below poverty line.

To educate the tribal and poor children from far of area where there are no schools available we started Nagle hostel 2002 for these children. Our option for the poor called as forth to close our service to the elite people by closing the European School in 1989 and we have continued with nursery school up to 2003. Request of the local people to start a Matriculation School for the children since no Catholic school available in Kodaikanal. PCK Matriculation School was started from 2004. Our Sisters are involved in pastoral ministry in the Church in building up faith of the people like catechism BCC meeting house visit and preparing the children for sacraments.

Education, Social, Socio/Pastoral and faith formation, Leadership and administration, Justice and systemic change, Health (Curative, preventive ) Formation of young sisters, Reaching out in love and compassion where need calls, daring to take risks and with a firm sense of commitment to mission has been a characteristic feature of the Presentation History and spirit.

In our journey we have been struggling and searching for ways and means to be more relevant to the local context and to make decisions more suitable to the immediate need. We dream of a just society for the hungry and spiritually starving millions.

We ask ourselves: “Will the step we contemplate restore the poor and voiceless a control over their destiny?”

Like the Israelites of old, amidst the confusing and uncertain maze of experiences, we see ourselves a pilgrim people, who have been led by the Lord and we can with joy and pride exclaim” You have been our refuge from one generation to the next.” With arms outstretched you have led your people.
